Possibility Begins with You
As I was studying sales, there was a stat I read that 70% of the outcome of a sales transaction is within your control. Good odds. While some may fear that, I found it quite empowering due to the fact that when something is within my control, it means I can do something about it. One thing I continue to hone as I get older is to not fret and worry about what I can't control or influence. It’s a challenge given my personality type, but I have improved dramatically as I have matured as a business leader and human being. I choose to focus my energy on those things in which I can have impact. It’s far more fulfilling, rewarding and, most certainly, productive.
So much of our success is within our own control. There is a quote from Thomas Jefferson that I adore: "I am a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it." So, true. When we accept responsibility for ourselves, it becomes much easier to get ourselves in the right frame of mind. We pursue mental, physical, and spiritual fitness so we can be the best version of ourselves each day. This includes detaching ourselves from "old thinking." I mean simply, that past actions do not define nor dictate future actions, whether that was one second ago or many years gone. The future is the only thing we can control. Therefore, a future full of possibility begins with you and in your choice to pursue it.
I'll close with another quote..."You can become blind by seeing each day as a similar one. Each day is a different one, each day brings a miracle of its own. Its just a matter of paying attention to this miracle." - Paolo Coelho
Sometimes we can get to where we need to be through self-coaching while other times we need "outside" help. It is fair to say, however, that no matter how skilled and experienced, we all need and benefit through coaching and collaboration. Contact AvalonBridge if you'd like to pursue this further.
